Traynor was a four-year letter winner and two-year captain for both men's soccer and men's lacrosse. He helped the soccer program go 58-22-4 over his four seasons. Traynor was All-ODAC Second Team in 1992 and 1993 before earning First Team honors in 1995. He was All-VISA Second Team and All-Region Second Team as a senior, as well as leading the conference in assists. In program history, Traynor is fifth with 21 career assists, sixth with 93 points and seventh with 36 goals.

The 1996 ODAC Midfielder of the Year for men's lacrosse, Traynor was Honorable Mention All-America as a senior. He was All-ODAC First Team as a junior and senior after being selected Second Team as a sophomore. Traynor is fourth in program history with 145 points, sixth with 95 goals and seventh with 50 assists. Traynor is one of four Yellow Jackets with two 50-point seasons, joining Hugh Purvis as well as R-MC Hall of Famers Frank Smollen and Paul Tomick. Traynor was drafted by the Philadelphia Wings and played five years of professional lacrosse.
