A standout on the football field, Kane left Ashland as the most prolific pass rusher in school history and in the history of the ODAC. In just three seasons, he registered 212 tackles, 46 of which were for a loss of yards. At the time of induction, Kane’s 38 quarterback sacks still ranks as both a school and ODAC record. A two-time Second-Team All-American, Kane was named First-Team All-ODAC as both a sophomore and junior. He was also named the ODAC Player of the Year in 1989, becoming just the second defensive player in league history to earn that award.
