  • 1951 graduate of the College of William & Mary, where he played basketball and baseball.
  • Played two seasons of minor league baseball.
  • Coached and taught at Highland Springs High School.
  • 19 years as men’s basketball coach at R-MC (1956-75).
  • Yellow Jackets went 315-158 under Coach Webb.
  • 1963-64 team won first Mason-Dixon Conference Championship by a Virginia school.
  • Took Yellow Jackets to NCAA Tournament in 1965 for first time in program history.
  • 1975 District III Coach of the Year.
  • Guided R-MC to seven Mason-Dixon Southern Division titles, three Mason-Dixon Conference championships and four berths in NCAA Tournament.
  • Spent 10 seasons as head coach at Old Dominion University.
  • 1977 ECAC Upstate-Southern Division Coach of the Year by the NABC.
  • 511-257 record in 29 seasons at R-MC & ODU.
  • Retired in 1985 as country’s sixth-winningest collegiate basketball coach.
  • Was all-time winningest college basketball coach in the state of Virginia until mark was surpassed in 1998.
  • Sons Eddie and Doug attended R-MC.
  • Has run basketball camps for more than 55 years.
  • Inducted into William & Mary Athletic Hall of Fame in 1982.
  • Entered Old Dominion University Sports Hall of Fame in 1990.
  • Inducted into Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in 1993.
  • Entered Highland Springs High School Hall of Fame in 1999.
