ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team won all three doubles matches and took all six singles In straight sets in a 9-0 ODAC home victory over Lynchburg Thursday afternoon at the Banks Tennis Center to extend its win streak to seven.
Sophomores Melissa Tomlin (Prince George, Va./Prince George) and Molly Jesseman (Williamsburg, Va./Warhill) posted an 8-0 win at No. 2 Doubles for the Yellow Jackets (12-1, 8-0 ODAC). Tomlin won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 Singles, while Jesseman took No. 4 Singles 6-2, 6-1.
Senior Angelina Sportelli (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) teamed with sophomore Kelsie Grice (Hoover, Ala./Charlotte Country Day) to register an 8-1 victory at No. 1 Doubles. Sportelli rolled at No. 1 Singles 6-0, 6-0, while Grice recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 Singles.
Freshmen Sarah Hinson (Nashville, N.C./Northern Nash) and Hannah Trueblood (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) won 8-1 at No. 3 Doubles. Hinson took a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5 Singles, while Trueblood posted a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6 Singles.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Saturday, April 18 with a 2 p.m. ODAC road match at Roanoke.
