ASHLAND, Va. – Sophomore Melissa Tomlin (Prince George, Va./Prince George) dominated in both singles and doubles as the Randolph-Macon women's tennis team overwhelmed Sweet Briar 8-1 in ODAC action Saturday afternoon at the Banks Tennis Center.
Tomlin lost just three games in the match. She won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 Singles. Tomlin teamed with sophomore Molly Jesseman (Williamsburg, Va./Warhill) to win 8-2 at No. 2 Doubles.
Jesseman posted a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4 Singles for the Yellow Jackets (9-1, 5-0).
Sophomore Kelsie Grice (Hoover, Ala./Country Day) registered a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 Singles. She and senior Angelina Sportelli (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) to win 8-3 at No. 1 Doubles.
Freshmen Sarah Hinson (Nashville, N.C./Northern Nash) and Hannah Trueblood (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) registered an 8-2 win at No. 3 Doubles. Hinson took No. 5 Singles 6-2, 6-0, while Trueblood took No. 6 Singles 6-1, 6-0.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Sunday, April 12 for a 1 p.m. ODAC match against Randolph.
