FROSTBURG, Md. – Junior back Carrie Jacobs (Orange, Va./Orange County) scored the game's lone goal midway through the second half as Randolph-Macon nipped Transylvania 1-0 in the first round of the Frostburg State Tournament.

Jacobs scored with 16:26 remaining in the contest on an assist by sophomore forward Kali Carroll (Earlysville, Va./Albemarle). Jacobs led the Yellow Jackets (2-1) with nine total shots, of which three were on goal. R-MC held a 43-6 advantage on shots, including 28-3 for shots on goal.

Senior goalkeeper Steph Talley (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) recorded a pair of saves in posting the shutout.

The Jackets advance to the championship game against Kenyon on Sunday, Sept. 8, at noon.
