How it Happened
  • In the second minute of the game, Randolph-Macon ripped four shots as a result of two corners, with each attempt coming from a different player. Natalie Moul (Haymarket, Va./Battlefield) had her shot blocked but picked up an assist on a goal from Olivia Greene (Amissville, Va./Culpeper County), converting on the fifth shot of the game. 40 seconds later, RMC worked for another corner and converted to take an early 2-0 lead. Breea Dresler (Yorktown, Va., Tabb) inserted and Kylee Gorham (Suffolk, Va./Lakeland) netted her third goal in two games, earning the tally at the 5:16 mark. The pressure remained with the Yellow Jackets, as Greene put a shot on goal during the following possession and tested the Royal's goalkeeper. After the save, Janne Roelink (Den Helder, Netherlands/Norfolk Collegiate) put one more attempt on goal to keep momentum with the Lemon and Black through one.
  • 2:22 into the second, Grace Oates (Poquoson, Va./Poquoson) registered a shot on goal but Renata Videki made the save. While Neely Winefordner (Glen Allen, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) could not convert with her own following shot on goal, Greene picked up her fourth point of the day as she scored 4:57 into the second, with the feed coming from Dresler. Ella Caldwell (Seaford, Va./York) followed suit with her team, as she put two more shots on goal in a 39 second span. The Royals stopped the pressure for a brief moment with a foul but it was not enough, as Peyton Sutton (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester) hit the post and Trageser picked up the change for a goal with 4:03 left in the frame. Just before the closing of the half, Trageser attempted a shot on frame which led to a goal from Roelink, establishing a dominant 5-0 lead at halftime.
  • Over the course of the first 3:42 of the third, Randolph-Macon amassed 11 total shots, with three RMC players putting shots at the EMU keeper. Gorham and Natalee Fortin (Virginia Beach, Va./Bayside) posted the last two shots on net and it was Moul who punched in the goal at the 4:13 timestamp. After the goal, both Dresler and Miley Slatter (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) registered shots on target, helping the team coast into the final frame with a 6-0 cushion.
  • The pressure did not stop there, as Dresler inserted a penalty corner just 36 seconds into the final period. Caitlin Porter (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) posted two shots with one going on target and thanks to her pressure, Dresler found Sutton for her first-career goal, earning the milestone 2:53 into the fourth. The next shot on goal in the game came from Trageser and it was the team's eighth goal of the game, permitting Greene the chance to swipe an assist and fifth point of the match. The junior capped off her incredible evening with her second assist, as she located Fortin for her second goal of the season, increasing the count to 9-0. In the final minute of play, Trageser completed the feat and scored her third goal of the game for the hat trick, icing a historical 10-0 win for the Lemon and Black.
