Box Score Lauren Seal scored two goals including the game winner in
overtime to lead Randolph-Macon Field Hockey past Goucher College
2-1 in Towson, MD Tuesday.
Ali Metzger put Goucher on the board just nine minutes in with a
goal from the top of the circle.
The 1-0 Gopher lead held until the 43rd minute when
R-MC freshman attacker Lauren Seal rattled the cage off of her own
rebound to tie the game at 1-1.
Strong defense from both teams kept the 1-1 tie intact for the
remainder of regulation.
Seal needed just 1:42 of overtime to make a break away from
midfield and beat the keeper to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-1
win.
Randolph-Macon outshot Goucher 15-5 for the game and held a 9-6
advantage in penalty corners.
Gophers' keeper Micki Manheimer stopped seven shots on
goal while Yellow Jackets' goalie Nicole Woodworth made one
save.
R-MC Field Hockey will be back in action Saturday, September
25th when they travel to Wilson College for a 3:00
contest.
