On November 8th the Randolph-Macon College Men's
Lacrosse Team helped spread the game of lacrosse to local area
youth and high school players in the Hanover Lacrosse Club.
Overall, 50 players and their parents attended the day's events.
The day included instructions on the fundamentals of the game by
current Yellow Jacket players and coaches on RMC's campus.
Participants were given the opportunity to learn the correct
techniques of shooting, passing, catching, cradling, goalie play
and defending. Parents were also given the opportunity to get
involved with recruiting information sessions, and basic rules
demonstrations.
The highlight of the day by far was the fastest shot
competition, clocked with a radar gun.
"The day was a success, and we look forward to doing more
sessions like these every year. It feels great to give back to this
community and create an interest in lacrosse in these young
players," said Head Coach Mike Plantholt.
