ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon Men's Lacrosse had five players represented on the All-State recognition by VaSID for the 2025 season.
Mike Allen (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) was awarded Defensive Player of the Year and named to the first team. The Yellow Jackets also saw
Will Robertson (Lutherville, Md./Calvert Hall),
Grant Sobel (Mechanicsville, Va./Christchurch),
Cooper Hauser (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) and
Brodie Kent (Coquitlam, Canada/Centennial) earn second team nods.
Allen was a workhorse in the defensive zone for the Lemon and Black last season, earning his second career all-state honor. The junior posted 69 ground balls and a team-leading 32 caused turnovers in 2025. The Williamsburg native also showed off his offensive game with nine goals and six assists on the year. Allen is the program's all-time leader in caused turnovers (99) and is in the top 20 of career ground balls (174) through just three seasons. The major award of defensive player of the year will add to his accolades of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Year and First Team nods to his name being on the USA Lacrosse All-American list.
Robertson turned heads in his second year on the campus of Randolph-Macon in all major college lacrosse spaces. The sophomore was a national leaders in faceoff win percentage and also ranked in career top ten lists for the program best marks. His 195 faceoff wins and .684 faceoff win percentage rank second in program history for a single season. The Lutherville, Maryland native has already been named as a USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American and All-ODAC Third Team member, following a marvelous 2025 season.
Sobel turned in an impressive sophomore campaign for the Yellow Jackets offensive unit. He was one of the best man-up offensive players in the country with six man-up goals, totalling 27 overall goals for the Lemon and Black. Sobel helped Randolph-Macon have one of the best offensive attacks in the country with help from great midfield play of players like Sobel. The Mechanicsville native was also honored as a USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American and All-ODAC second team for his efforts this season.
Hauser paired well with his teammates Allen and Kent in the defensive end for the Lemon and Black this past season. The senior dealt with different injuries over the course of the 2025 season but still managed to have 41 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers, ranking in the top of Randolph-Macon statistics. He also posted nine points on the year with five goals and four assists. The Charlottesville native was named USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American and to the All-ODAC Third Team this season.
Kent was elite over the course of the season for the Lemon and Black in the defensive zone. He was second on the Yellow Jackets with 79 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers out of the LSM position. From March 29-April 29, Kent filled the stat sheet with 43 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers, giving more consistent play to Randolph-Macon later in the season. The Coquitlam, Canada native was named USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American and to the All-ODAC First Team this season.
