Randolph-Macon Field Hockey Shuts Out Goucher
3-0
TOWSON, MD-Kendall Lam's goal in the
18th minute proved to be the game winner as
Randolph-Macon Field Hockey shutout Goucher 3-0 in Towson Friday.
Kendall Lam (Virginia Beach, VA/ Kellam) scored on a pass from
Monica Jenkins (Culpepper, VA/ Culpepper) to give the Yellow
Jackets a 1-0 advantage.
Meredith Young (Bassett, VA/ Carlisle School) extended the R-MC
advantage to 2-0 just after halftime when she took a pass from
Nicole Klee (Suffolk, VA/ Lakeland) and put it in the back of the
net.
Senior Jamie Shifrin (Baltimore, MD/ Towson) tallied the Yellow
Jackets' final goal on a pass from Mary McCarthy (Rixeyville,
VA/Culpepper), giving R-MC the 3-0 victory.
Randolph-Macon keeper Nicole Woodworth (Culpeper, VA/Eastern
View) stopped four shots during her 51 minutes in net.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action Saturday, October
24th, when they host Sweet Briar College for a 2:00 p.m.
game. Before Saturday's game, Randolph-Macon will honor their five
senior players.
