8/24/2026 2:08:00 PM

FOREST, Va. – After earning its first ODAC Tournament Semifinals berth since 2013, Randolph-Macon field hockey was selected to finish fourth in the 2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference preseason poll.

Heading into their 11th season under Head Coach Jessica Weiss, the Yellow Jackets reached the 12-win total just a season ago in 2025, marking the most in the Coach Weiss era. Furthermore, with its 12-7 record, RMC recorded its third consecutive season with a winning record, joining the 2009-11 Yellow Jackets as the only rosters in program history to accomplish the feat since 2000.

After winning the ODAC Championship in 2025, Lynchburg was tabbed at the top of the poll, garnering 63 points and seven first place votes. Washington and Lee was picked second with 56 points and two first place votes, while ODAC runner-up Shenandoah rounds out the podium with 52 points.

Randolph-Macon improves from last year, as the program was given 41 points for a fourth-place slot, jumping up from fifth in 2025. Bridgewater (36 points), Roanoke (29), Batten (23), Sweet Briar (13) and Eastern Mennonite (11) fill out the remaining five teams.

The Lemon and Black are poised for success, as they return five of their six all-ODAC student-athletes. The nucleus of the team saw an RMC program that posted nine shutouts in 2025, including the postseason, which marked the most in a single season in the history of the program.
