ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon Women's Lacrosse saw 16 players record a goal in its 28-0 shutout of conference opponent, Sweet Briar, during the Green Bandana Game, Wednesday evening on Day Field.

How it Happened
- Lilly Fowler (Phoenix, Md./Notre Dame Prep) wasted no time getting the score started, netting a goal off a pass from Caty Benton (Richmond, Va./Mills E. Godwin), 20 seconds into the game. At the 13:12 mark, Cami McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) fed Benton a pass to take a 2-0 lead. Fowler dished a pass to Benton as she cashed in her second goal of the first period. Campbell Conway (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's) found the back of the net at the 12:06 mark and again with 11:21 to play, extending RMC's lead to five. McNeally found Fowler at the 10:46 mark for her third goal. 24 seconds later, Kiley Kurcoba (White Marsh, Md./Perry Hall) received a pass from Grayson Cornelius (Glenwood, Md./Glenelg High School) and defeated Sweet Briar's defense to add another goal for the Yellow Jackets. Sydney Eldredge (Chesterfield, Va./Monacan) found McNeally as she netted her first goal of the evening, forcing a Sweet Briar timeout and putting the Yellow Jackets ahead by eight. Out of the timeout, McNeally netted her second goal in the first fifteen minutes of play. The Yellow Jackets' lead grew to double digits with a goal from Emma Alex (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) at the 7:54 mark. Brooklynn Ricker (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) fired off two shots that would not go but caused a turnover and found Lina Donoway (Chester, Md./Kent Island) for her first goal of the night. With 2:12 to play in the first, Eldredge used a Benton pass to stretch the Yellow Jackets' lead to 12.
- 50 seconds into the second period, Cornelius hit Fowler for her hat-trick goal. Fowler scored again two minutes later, this time off a Paige Citro (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) assist. Fowler continued to rack up points with an assist on a goal from Eldredge as the Yellow Jackets continued to roll. Taylor Sung (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) and Coleen Desmond (Fredericksburg, Va./The Madeira School) both found the back of the net, and McNeally tallied her hat-trick goal to put the Yellow Jackets ahead, 18-0, heading into halftime.
- The scoring did not slow down in the second half for the Lemon and Black. Conway hit Elaina Creekmore (Pasadena, Md./Old Mill) for her first goal of the game, a minute into the third quarter. Emma Moxham (Street, Md./Garrison Forest School) used a pass from Reese Toth (Edgewater, Md./South River) to find the back of the net. At the 9:35 mark, Alex tallied another goal off a pass from Kurcoba. Ricker also scored her second goal of the game using a pass from Cornelius with 5:13 left in the third. The Yellow Jackets' lead amounted to 22 in the third quarter, but McNeally found Benton for her hat trick goal and the Yellow Jackets' 23rd goal of the first 45-minutes of action.
- Citro got the scoring started for RMC in the fourth frame, netting a goal at the 13:27 mark. Benton added to her impressive offensive performance with a goal two minutes later with the help of a Donoway assist. Benton stayed on the attack and fed Hailey Pierce (Mechanicsville, Va./Mechanicsville) as she scored to extend the Yellow Jackets' lead to 26. At the midway point of the final period, Toth netted her first goal of the evening. Benton found the back of the net for the fifth time at the end of the period as the Yellow Jackets shut out Sweet Briar, 28-0.
Inside the Numbers
- Benton paced the Yellow Jackets' offense, netting a career-high five goals and five assists. The Senior also scooped up a game-high three ground balls and caused a turnover.
- Fowler recorded seven points on four goals. McNeally had six points with three goals.
- Rylee DeVito (Fallston, Md./Fallston), Sam Goodiel (Reston, Va./South Lakes), and Lydia Lesnevich (Catonsville, Md./Towson) all scooped up a groundball in the contest.
- Goalkeepers Gillian Gladden (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) and Becca Dumler (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) saw time between the pipes. The Yellow Jackets' defense only saw one shot in the shutout.
- Pierce led the Yellow Jackets with four draw controls. Eldredge, Citro, and Desmond added three draw controls.
- RMC outshot Sweet Briar, 37-1. The Lemon and Black put 32 shots on goal in the contest.
- Of the 29 total draws, the Yellow Jackets controlled 22 of them, compared to Sweet Briar's seven.
- The Yellow Jackets' defense did not allow a Sweet Briar clear. RMC went 6 for 6 on clears.

- Fowler has moved into the top four all-time in assists, passing Alison Smith (1993-96) with 113 assists. Tonight, she also passed Rianna Lowery (2022-25) for career points with 269 in her career.
