LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lemon and Black took all three doubles courts, before watching four singles matches go to three sets, winning three of them en route to a 5-2 victory.

Doubles
Catherine Mowry (Lynchburg, Va./Liberty Christian Academy) and
Camilla Thurman (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic) opened the doubles point as the only duo to win each of the first three games. In a close battle, they were able to get the win at first doubles, 7-5.
Campbell Andrulot (Baldwin, Md./Dulaney) and
Salomea Tchantouridze (Barre, Vt./U-32) also won with a 7-5 score, as the third doubles pairing went back-and-forth all set to get the victory. Furthermore, they have now won three in-a-row when playing as a pair.
Finishing third in incredible comeback fashion was
Meckenzie Letellier (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton) and
Victoria Updike (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal School), who were down 2-5 and stole five consecutive games to win 7-5. The junior and freshman combination have now taken seven of their last nine contests.

Singles
Thurman made quick work at first singles as the only Yellow Jacket to win in two sets, as she led the way with a 6-2, 6-4 win. Despite going three sets, Updike and Letellier only surrendered 11 and 10 games respectively, bouncing back after dropping each of their first sets to win their matches. Andrulot finished in similar fashion, as she fought hard to win a close 7-5 third set, giving her five wins in six career singles matches. While both Mowry and Tchantouridze dropped their matches at second and sixth singles, Mowry forced a deep three-set contest, while Tchantouridze extended set one to 12 total games.
