SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Yellow Jackets were able to take two of the three doubles matches to clinch the doubles point, but dropped a narrow contest in singles to finish with a final score of 3-4.

Doubles
Randolph-Macon earned the doubles point to kick off the match, led by a third doubles shutout from
Campbell Andrulot (Baldwin, Md./Dulaney) and
Salomea Tchantouridze (Barre, Vt./U-32). After they finished in just 19 minutes,
Meckenzie Letellier (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton) and
Victoria Updike (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) clinched a 7-6 win at second doubles, giving RMC a 1-0 lead.
Catherine Mowry (Lynchburg, Va./Liberty Christian Academy) and
Camilla Thurman (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic) still captured four games in their set at first doubles.
Letellier and Updike have now won four-in-a-row together, including an 8-2 record in their past 10 doubles matches. Andrulot and Tchantouridze have also won four consecutive when matched up together, with an overall record of 5-0.

Singles
Andrulot posted a dominant 6-0, 6-0 sweep at sixth singles, marking the second blank sheet of her career. Randolph-Macon got another victory in Letellier, as she commanded play with a 6-2, 6-1 score. The junior has now won five consecutive singles matches, including wins in eight of her last nine overall. Tchantouridze was able to stretch her match at fifth singles to five and despite the loss, she took 15 games. Mowry also came to narrow losses in each of her two sets, finishing play down 6-7, 4-6.
