LEXINGTON, Ky. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Coaches Poll has been released for week four, and Randolph-Macon Men's Lacrosse is receiving votes for the fifth week in a row.
Men's lacrosse picked up its first loss and fifth win of the season this week. On Wednesday, they traveled to Newport News, Virginia, taking on the No. 3 nationally ranked Christopher Newport Captains, where the Yellow Jackets battled in a midweek showdown, falling 14-6. They closed out the week with a win after an overtime thriller on Saturday afternoon, hosting the Washington (Md.) Shoremen for a hard-fought 16-15 victory.
The Lemon and Black have outscored opponents 77-57. Faceoffs continue to be a strength for the Yellow Jackets, as they have won 91 and lost 62, for a 59.5% win rate. Defensively, the Yellow Jackets have caused 77 turnovers and have picked up 193 ground balls.
RMC is back in action on Day Field Saturday, March 7, when they host ODAC rival Hampden-Sydney for Alumni weekend, a SWARM Game and its first ODAC contest of the season at 1:00 p.m.
