Mowry’s Tiebreak Win Highlights Home Victory Against Roanoke

ASHLAND, Va. – En route to a dominant 7-0 home performance, senior Catherine Mowry (Lynchburg, Va./Liberty Christian Academy) battled at first doubles and second singles to secure two wins in each of her two matches.

Doubles
 
Randolph-Macon secured wins at each of the three doubles courts to clinch the doubles point sweat-free. En route to taking the point, Elizabeth Key (Moseley, Va./Cosby) and Salomea Tchantouridze (Barre, Vt./U-32) held their opponents to a match-low one game won, taking a 6-1 win at third doubles.
 
(RMC) Mowry and Camilla Thurman (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic) def. (RC) Bella Gustafson and Lia Streibich, 6-2.
(RMC) Meckenzie Letellier (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton) and Victoria Updike (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) def. (RC) Camryn Breedlove and Raygan Wade, 6-2.
(RMC) Key and Tchantouridze def. (RC) Kaleigh Menefee and Morgan Tobey, 6-1.

Singles
 
While Mowry's win in a tiebreak helped to clinch the shutout, both Letellier and Tchantouridze held their opponents scoreless in one set. As a unit, the Lemon and Black did not allow the Maroons to win more than three games in any set in any of the six matches played.
