Cami McNeally and Mittelstadter Pace Women's Lax Against Bridgewater


ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse took down Bridgewater, 13-8, in the regular season finale led by hat tricks from Taylor Mittelstadter (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester) and Cami McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding).

How it Happened
  • Bridgewater got the scoring started with a goal with 9:53 on the clock in the first quarter. Lilly Fowler (Phoenix, Md./Notre Dame Prep) responded to even the score with a man-up goal with 7:04 on the clock. Fowler tallied another point recording an assist with Reese Toth (Edgewater, Md./South River) scoring her first goal of the evening. The Eagles knotted the game at 2-2, scoring on a free-position shot with 3:57 left in the first frame. 
  • The score was only tied for 1:24 in the second quarter before the Eagles regained a one point lead. Evie McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) took advantage of the man-up situation and evened the game at 3-3. Mittelstadter scored to help the Yellow Jackets retake a 4-3 lead with 8:56 left to play in the second quarter. Cami McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) netted two goals, one on a man-down situation and one on a free-position attempt, to extend the lead to 6-3. Mittelstadter netted her second goal of the game at the 3:15 mark to cap off a five goal run. The Eagles responded with a man-up goal inside of two minutes left in the quarter, before Anna Snoddy (Palmyra, Va./Fluvanna County) replied with a goal to help the Jackets double the Eagles' score, 8-4. With 0:12 left on the clock, Amanda Maxwell (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) netted her first goal of the game as the Yellow Jackets took a five point lead into the locker room. 
  • Cami McNeally completed the hat trick on a two-man-up goal two minutes into the third frame. Mittelstadter also completed her hat trick soon after in the third quarter. The Eagles closed the gap with two goals to make it 11-6. The last 7:34 of the third period went scoreless. 
  • Bridgewater scored again to make the game 11-7 with 9:59 left to play. Evie McNeally netted her second goal of the game as the Yellow Jackets regained a five point lead but it was quickly matched by another Bridgewater goal. On a free-position goal, Snoddy notched her second score of the game with 3:05 left in the game as the Yellow Jackets complete their regular season with a 13-8 victory.
Inside the Numbers
  • Randolph-Macon outshot Bridgewater 37-27 in the entire game. 
  • The Lemon and Black won the draw control battle with 17 to the Eagles 6. 
  • The Yellow Jackets edged Bridgewater in ground balls with a line of 17-16.
  • Mittelstadter recorded a hat-trick, adding four draw controls and two ground balls.  
  • Cami McNeally was the other Yellow Jacket to notch a hat trick and added a caused turnover to her line.
  • Snoddy notched two goals on only two shots in the game. 
  • Evie McNeally netted two goals, controlled three draws and tallied a ground ball. 
  • Fowler ended the game with two assists and a goal for three points. The junior also scooped up two ground balls in the game.
  • Laila Omar (Annandale, Va./Falls Church) paced the Yellow Jackets defense with three ground balls and three caused turnovers. 
  • Toth and Maxwell both scored on their only shots of the game. 
  • Rianna Lowery (Bel Air, Md./Notre Dame Prep) led the team with three assists.
  • Gillian Gladden (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) received the win between the pipes for Randolph-Macon, ending the evening with ten saves.

Randolph Macon women's lacrosse will host one ODAC quarterfinal on Tuesday, April 29th against the winner of Lynchburg and Ferrum, time is TBD.
