ASHLAND, Va. - The Randolph-Macon women's tennis concludes the weekend of matches beating Hood College 7-0 in their home fall debut.


The Basics

Records: Randolph-Macon (1-1, 0-1 ODAC); Hood (0-1, 0-0 MACC)

Doubles:

The Yellow Jackets doubles earned a 1-0 lead by sweeping the doubles. Elizabeth Key (Moseley, Va./Cosby) and Emma Turner (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) had no problem dispatching Hoods number second team 6-0.

Singles:

In singles play Randolph-Macon won in straight sets on all four courts. Catherine Mowry (Lynchburg, Va./Liberty Christian Academy) secured her first win of the fall 6-0, 6-1 in the top flight. Layla Gaines (Warsaw, Va./Rappahannock) finished off her match 6-2,6-0 giving the jackets the first win of the season.
