GREENSBORO, N.C. - Randolph-Macon moves to 7-3 (4-2) after sweeping the Quakers of Guilford 9-0 on the road. In doubles play
Camilla Thurman (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic) and
Catherine Mowry (Lynchburg, Va. Liberty Christian Academy) started off with a close win.
Meckenzie Letellier (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton) and
Katie Sarnowski (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) gutted out an 8-5 win in second doubles.
Emma Turner (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) and
Elizabeth Key (Moseley, Va./Cosby) finished off doubles with an 8-4 win, as the Yellow Jackets swept doubles to kick off the match. In singles, Mowry worked through a tough first set to defeat her opponent in second singles.
Becky Villeda (Williamsburg, Va./Walsingham Academy) and Thurman both made quick work of their opponents to highlight the single matches. Randolph-Macon cruised in all other singles matches to take the victory 9-0 over Guilford.
