ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon women's tennis dropped its home match to Centre College by a score of 8-1. The Yellow Jackets had two matches in second and third doubles end in closely contested battles.
Adele Huffman (Granite Falls, N.C./University Christian) and
Matty Grace Gilliam (Murfreesboro, N.C./Ridgecroft) led for most of the match before their final service, losing 8-6. The Lemon and Black dropped all three doubles matches, heading into singles down 3-0.
Camilla Thurman (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic) won 6-1,6-1 on the first singles court to notch the first and only point for Randolph-Macon. Huffman led at sixth singles but was forced to retire due to injury. RMC moves to 5-3 heading into their next match on spring break against Randolph College.
