Rianna Lowery (Bel Air, Mc./Notre Dame Prep) tallied three goals as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team trailed No. 14 Christopher Newport by one midway through the final period before dropping a 14-9 decision on Wednesday evening.

How It Happened:
- The Captains netted the first goal of the game before Lowery connected on a free position shot to level the score at 1-1 less than four minutes into the contest. CNU would add a pair of goals to take a 3-1 advantage after one period.
- Junior Taylor Mittelstadter (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester) scored 85 seconds into the second quarter and Lowery recorded her second goal 19 seconds later as the Yellow Jackets tied the game at 3-3. The Captains registered the next two goals before freshman Cami McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) scored with 1:33 remaining and senior Annie Bartley (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) finished on an assist by junior Evie McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) as the teams went to the half deadlocked at 5-5.
- CNU took a one-goal lead near the midway point of the third period before Evie McNeally scored on an assist by sophomore Lilly Fowler (Phoenix, Md./Notre Dame Prep) with 2:39 left in the quarter to level the score at 6-6. The Captains added a goal one minute later before Bartley scored on a player-advantage free position shot to tie the game at 7-7 with just under a minute remaining. CNU added a goal with four seconds left to take an 8-7 lead into the final period.
- The Captains had the first two goals of the fourth quarter before Lowery netted her third goal with 10:30 left to make it 10-8. Bartley assisted Fowler with 7:45 remaining to again make it a one-goal contest at 10-9. CNU had the final four goals of the game to record a 14-9 victory.
