Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Sophomore Taylor Mittelstadter (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester) tallied three goals as the RMC women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-9 decision to Christopher Newport on Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened
- Mittelstadter scored 1:13 into the contest and freshman Lilly Fowler (Phoenix, Md./Notre Dame Prep) connected on a free position shot as the Yellow Jackets led 2-0 three minutes in. After a pair of goals by the Captains tied it, Fowler and Mittelstadter added scores to put RMC up 4-2 with 5:28 left in the first period. CNU had the next goal before sophomore Evie McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) scored on an assist by sophomore Rianna Lowery (Bel Air, Md./Notre Dame Prep) as the Yellow Jackets led 5-3 after one quarter.
- CNU would dominate the second period, putting up five goals and keeping RMC off the board. The Captains held an 8-5 advantage at halftime.
- The Captains scored the first three goals of the third period before sophomore Amanda Maxwell (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) and Lowery connected on free position shots to make it 11-7 with two minutes remaining. CNU had the final goal of the quarter to take a 12-7 edge to the final period.
- CNU had the first five goals of the fourth quarter before Bartley scored on a free position shot and assisted Mittelstadter on the final goal to make the final score 17-9.

- Freshman Emma Moxham (Street, Md./Garrison Forest) had five ground balls, while senior Italia Carnazza (Fairfax, Va./Paul VI) picked up three.
