ASHLAND, Va. – Junior Annie Bartley (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) scored six goals in the first half and surpassed 100 career goals as the fifth-seeded Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team defeated eighth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan 23-5 on Saturday afternoon in the first round of the ODAC Championship.

How It Happened

• Bartley converted a pair of free position shots in the first seven minutes of the game. Freshman Lilly Fowler (Phoenix, Md./Notre Dame Prep) and sophomore Amanda Maxwell (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) added goals to put the Yellow Jackets up 4-0 with 6:30 remaining in the first half. Following a Marlin score, sophomore Evie McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and freshman Emma Moxham (Street, Md./Garrison Forest School) added goals to make it 6-1 with 3:30 left. After a second VWU score, sophomore Taylor Mittelstadter (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester) and Bartley registered goals as RMC led 8-2 after one quarter.
• Fowler scored 38 seconds into the second period and two more goals by Bartley made it 11-2 with 12:28 remaining until the half. Bartley's second goal of the quarter was her 100th career goal. The Marlins netted consecutive goals before sophomore Rianna Lowery (Bel Air, Md./Notre Dame Prep) scored twice, Moxham scored once and Bartley found the back of the net with one second left, her sixth of the first half, as the home team took a 15-4 advantage at the break.
• Junior Amelia Davis (Davidsonville, Md./South River) had her first goal of the game in the third period and Fowler registered her third as the advantage grew to 17-4 with nine minutes remaining. VWU scored its final goal one minute later before Moxham fed McNeally to make it 18-5 after three quarters.
• Sophomore Jordyn Schwartz (Reistertown, Md./St. Paul's) had the first two goals of the fourth period, freshman Caty Benton (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) added two and senior Logan Schweiger (Church Hill, Md./Queen Anne's County) had the game's final goal with six minutes left to make the final score 23-5.

• The Yellow Jackets matched their season high with 23 goals. RMC reached the 20-goal mark for the fifth time this season.
• RMC had seven players score multiple goals. Bartley had six goals and one assist for seven points. Fowler finished with three goals. Lowery and Moxham both had two goals and three assists for five points. McNeally and Schwartz had two goals and one assist for three points. Benton also had two goals.
• RMC had a 20-10 advantage on draw controls. VWU had a 7-4 edge in the first period, but the Yellow Jackets dominated 16-3 over the final three quarters. Senior Italia Carnazza (Fairfax, Va./Paul VI) led RMC with six, while Moxham secured three.
