ASHLAND, Va. -- The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team fell to ODAC newcomer Averett Saturday afternoon, 9-0. Averett swept the Yellow Jackets in doubles play, pulling out a close match at #1 doubles. In singles, the Yellow Jackets were close at #1 and #3 singles, but couldn't close out either match giving Averett the win. Catherine Mowry (Lynchburg, Va./Liberty Christian Academy) had a hard-fought match, losing 4-6 5-7, nearly giving the Jackets a point. Randolph-Macon moves to 3-2 heading into tomorrow's contest at Meredith at 2:00 p.m.
