With the match being played until the first team reach five, it seemed that there was even more importance on the doubles contests at the start of the afternoon. Unfortunately for the Yellow Jackets, they were defeated in all three. Grace Holderman (Jr., Roanoke, Va. / Cave Spring) and Matty Grace Gilliam (So., Murfreesboro, N.C. / Ridgecroft) were able to take a game at first doubles, but eventually fell 8-1 to Nat Garcia-Molina and Jahveesha Combs.
-
The same result befell Brianne Bock (Sr., Chesapeake, Va. / Western Branch) and Adele Huffman (Granite Falls, N.C. / University Christian) who were playing second doubles against Kelly Hudak and Lily Kimble.
-
Holderman was shutout in both of her first singles sets as was Gracie Smith (Sr., Dinwiddie, Va. / Dinwiddie) at sixth singles for the other two official points for the Hornets that ended the match. Huffman and Sarah Paige White (Richmond, Va. / St. Catherine's) both battled individually at third and fifth singles, respectively, but fell 6-4 in the first set and the match ended before the second could be finished.
