(ASHLAND, Va.) – The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team's win streak came to an end as it was defeated by Lynchburg on Sunday afternoon. It would have been the regular season finale, but the match against Virginia Wesleyan has been rescheduled.

How It Happened
- First and second doubles for the Yellow Jackets were able to pick up a few games before eventually falling in defeat. Grace Holderman (Jr., Roanoke, Va. / Cave Spring) and Adele Huffman (So., Granite Falls, N.C. / University Christian) continued playing together at the top spot, but were defeated by Christina Harris and Lauren Pascadlo 8-4. Gabby Cifuentes (Sr., Stafford, Va. / Paul VI) and Rachael Johnston (Sr., Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley) took on Elizabeth and Grace Teefey, but a similar fate awaited them as they also fell 8-4 to make the score 3-0 in favor of the Hornets.
- Singles action also favorited the visitors. Sarah Paige White (Fr., Richmond, Va. / St. Catherine's) opened up with strong play against Emma Pinola, but fell 6-4, 6-0 at fifth singles. Cifuentes won three games in the opener at No. 2 singles before being defeated 6-3, 6-1.
- Brianne Bock (Sr., Chesapeake, Va. / Western Branch) was the only other player to win at least a couple of games in a set. She fell to Mimi Oliver 6-2, 6-1 at sixth singles.
Up Next
The final match of the regular season will take place against Virginia Wesleyan this Saturday at 1 p.m. It will also serve as Senior Day for the Yellow Jackets.
