Box Score (ASHLAND, Va.) – The Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team squared off against a talented St. Mary's squad at Nunnally Field on Saturday afternoon. Although they put up some big offensive numbers, they came up just short against the Seahawks.

How It Happened
- The Seahawks jumped out in front early with a 6-2 lead after one quarter of play. The Yellow Jackets' offense eventually picked up in the second thanks to a pair of goals by Annie Bartley (So., Richmond, Va. / Mills Godwin). Already with one goal in the first, she added two more to make the score 7-4 in favor of the visitors.
- From there Rianna Lowery (Fr., Bel Air, Md. / Notre Dame Prep) added two goals for the Lemon and Black. Kayla Ross (Jr., Gambrills, Md. / Arundel) added a goal to make the score 10-7 with 1:11 to go in the half, but St. Mary's answered with 27 ticks left before the break.
- St. Mary's opened up the second half with the first three goals of the second half before R-MC started to make a run. Lily Henderson (Sr., Manakin Sabot, Va. / St. Catherine's) sparked a 4-0 rally on an assist from Logan Schweiger (Jr., Church Hill, Md. / Queen Anne's County) and Bartley added her fourth to make the score 14-9 with seconds to go in the third. Henderson added another shortly after the Seahawks were carded at the beginning of the fourth. Lowery capped the run to cut the deficit back to three at 14-11 with 11:32 to go.
- It was the closest R-MC would get the rest of the way as St. Mary's countered with a 6-2 run. The Jackets added two goals in the final minute, but time ran out on the comeback attempt.
Inside The Numbers
- Bartley led the Jackets' offense with five goals. Lowery also had a five-point day with three goals and two assists. Schweiger added four points on a goal and three assists.
- Henderson was also strong on draw controls as she picked up a game-best eight on the day.
- Lucy Gussio led the Seahawks offense with six goals and three assists.
- The Jacket goalies combined for 15 saves on the day. Caraline Cypher (Sr., Havre de Grace, Md. / Havre de Grace) totaled eight before Emma Taylor (So., Huntingtown, Md. / Huntingtown) came on in the second half for seven.
