How It Happened

  • The Yellow Jackets jumped on top early with wins at third and second doubles. Brianne Bock (Sr., Chesapeake, Va. / Western Branch) and Sarah Paige White (Fr., Richmond, Va. / St. Catherine's) scored the first point with an 8-0 blanking at thirds against the team of Emily Jones and Izzy Ingwerson. Gabby Cifuentes (Sr., Stafford, Va. / Paul VI) and Rachael Johnston (Sr., Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley) weren't far behind and disposed of Hannah Miller and Anna Vreeling 8-1 at seconds.
  • The closest contest of the day took place at first doubles with Grace Holderman (Jr., Roanoke, Va. / Cave Spring) and Adele Huffman (So., Granite Falls, N.C. / University Christian).
