(ASHLAND, Va.) – Adele Huffman (So., Granite Falls, N.C. / University Christian) won a hard-fought match at sixth singles to give Randolph-Macon its lone point against Centre on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets had a tough contests the rest of the day as the Colonels fielded a talented squad.

How It Happened
- Huffman was competitive in her doubles match as well as she paired with Matty Grace Gilliam (So., Murfreesboro, N.C. / Ridgecroft) to take on Caroline Lancaster and Grace Headley. They were able to take a few games before falling 8-4 to close doubles play.
- In singles play, Huffman had another impressive showing and was able to pull out the win. She dropped the first set 6-4, but flipped the script to win the second by the same margin. In the third set tiebreaker, the set was fairly even, but Huffman was able to score the point with an 11-9 decision against Abby Jamison.
- Rachael Johnston (Sr, Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley) was close to giving the Jackets a second point at fifth singles. She won the first set 7-6, but dropped the second 6-2. The third set tiebreaker was close, but Johnston fell to Mamie Sevier with a 10-8 decision.
