(SWEET BRIAR, Va.) – The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team dropped its lone contest of the weekend against a talented Sweet Briar squad on Sunday. The Yellow Jackets were going up against a well-oiled machine in the Vixens who were playing in their fifth match of the week.

How It Happened
- The Yellow Jackets went down early as their pairings at first and third doubles fell 8-0. The Lemon and Black's second doubles pair of Gabby Cifuentes (Sr., Stafford, Va. / Paul VI) and Rachael Johnston (Sr., Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley) did put up a fight, but eventually fell 8-4 to Sweet Briar's duo of Nikhita Simhambhatla and Maria Caro.
- R-MC continued to face stiff competition in singles play. Johnston led the charge in singles play at the fourth spot as she took on Kate Kotany. Johnston was able to take two games in the first set, but fell 6-2, 6-0.
- Sarah Paige White (Fr., Richmond, Va. / St. Catherine's) was also able to take to games, but fell to Alexia Alfaro 6-0, 6-2 in sixth singles.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Tuesday when they host Centre. It will be a men's and women's doubleheader with a scheduled start time of 4 p.m.
