(VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.) – The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team was back in action for the first time in almost two weeks, but fell in a close match to hosting Virginia Wesleyan. The Yellow Jackets held a 2-1 advantage after doubles, but the Marlins were able to pull off the comeback in singles play.

How It Happened:
- The Jackets took a 2-1 lead after doubles thanks to wins in the first and third pairings. Isabel Wadsworth (Sr., Lake Wales, Fla. / Lake Wales) and Andrea Wine (Sr., King George, Va. / King George) made short work of their opponents at thirds by a score of 8-2, while Avery Smith (Jr., Walpole, Mass. / Walpole) and Grace Holderman (So., Roanoke, Va. / Cave Spring) won a thriller at the top billing 7-6 (7-2).
- In singles action, the Jackets secured points at the fifth and sixth spots. Matty Grace Gilliam (Fr., Ridgecroft) defeated Amanda Stegemann at No. 5 by scores of 6-3 and 6-1. Wine provided the final point with a 6-0, 6-2 win against Sophia Bibbo at No. 6.
