(EMORY, Va.) – The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team made it six-straight as it defeated Emory & Henry on ODAC action Sunday afternoon. It wasn't easy for the Yellow Jackets as they came from behind to defeat the Wasps by one.

How It Happened
- The Yellow Jackets faced a deficit early after they fell in two of the three doubles contests. The lone point came at seconds where Matty Grace Gilliam (Fr., Murfreesboro, N.C. / Ridgecroft) and Daniella Hafner (Sr., Leesburg, Va. / Loudoun County) scored an 8-4 win over Logan Graham and Molly McMichael. Grace Holderman (So., Roanoke, Va. / Cave Spring) and Avery Smith (Jr., Walpole, Mass. / Walpole) were close to making it 2-1 in favor of the Jackets, but fell 8-6 at first doubles.
- Smith made up for it in singles action by scoring a dominant win at the top spot where she defeated Payton Holt 6-2, 6-0.
- Emma Nesselrodt (So., Mt. Crawford, Va. / Turner Ashby) followed suit with a pair of 6-3 sets to defeat McMichael at No. 3 singles.
- Hafner went 2-0 on the day after her match at No. 4 singles ended early after her opponent retired. Hafner was up 3-1 in the first set at the time.
- Gilliam also had a perfect day with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph over Logan Graham at fifth singles.
