(WINCHESTER, Va.) – The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team cruised by Shenandoah in a non-conference match Saturday. The Yellow Jackets have now won their last five matches heading into their penultimate contest of the regular season.

How It Happened
- The Jackets immediately took a 1-0 lead after a forfeit by the Hornets at third doubles. Randolph-Macon made it a clean sweep in the section with wins at first and seconds as well. Avery Smith (Jr., Walpole, Mass. / Walpole) and Grace Holderman (So., Roanoke, Va. / Cave Sprint) defeated Jahveesha Combs and Madison Hansen at the top pairings 8-5. Daniella Hafner (Sr., Leesburg, Va. / Loudoun County) and Matty Grace Gilliam (Fr., Murfreesboro, N.C. / Ridgecroft) added an 8-4 win over Madison Rogers and Kelly Hudak.
- Holderman went undefeated on the day as she defeated Hansen at No. 2 singles as well by scores of 6-1 and 6-4.
- Emma Nesselrodt (So., Mt. Crawford, Va. / Turner Ashby) provided the most exciting win of the day as she took down Hudak thanks to a tiebreaker. Nesselrodt lost the first set 6-2 before coming back to win the second 6-4. The tiebreaker needed more points than expected, but she eventually prevailed 13-11.
- Hafner and Gilliam also went undefeated in action. Hafner won 6-3, 6-2 at fourth singles against Madison Rogers. Gilliam defeated Caitlin Bennett in a pair of 6-1 games.
- Andrea Wine (Sr., King George, Va. / King George) also picked up two victories via forfeits at third doubles and sixth singles.
