(BRIDGEWATER, Va.) – The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team gave Bridgewater all it could handle, but unfortunately came up just short against the Eagles on Sunday. The Yellow Jackets were playing in just their second match of the season while BC remained unbeaten through three.

How It Happened:
- Doubles play proved pivotal as it was the decider in the overall team match. All three sections were either 8-2 or 8-1 decisions with Isabel Wadsworth (Sr., Lake Wales, Fla. / Lake Wales) and Andrea Wine (Sr., King George, Va. / King George) taking thirds with an 8-1 win.
- Grace Holderman (So., Roanoke, Va. / Cave Spring) won her match at No. 2 singles by a 6-3, 6-4 count over Emily Daigneault.
- Danielle Hafner (Sr., Leesburg, Va. / Loudoun County) had a tight contest at No. 4 with Malena Hoover. Hafner won the first easily 6-2, but needed a tiebreaker to win the second 7-6 (7-4).
- Matty Grace Gilliam (Fr., Murfreesboro, N.C. / Ridgecroft) scored a 6-2, 6-4 win over Ali Keister at fifth singles.
- Wine was a hairpin away from going 2-0 on the day and giving the Jackets the team victory. She won the first set 6-2, but dropped the second and deciding third by scores of 6-2 and 6-1, respectively.

The women's tennis team will be with the men once again for another ODAC twin bill. This time it will be at Roanoke with first serve scheduled for 1 p.m.
