ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon Women's Tennis shut out St. Mary's to open in 2020 season on Saturday afternoon.

- Doubles
- Senior Morgan Fuqua (Richmond, VA / Mills Godwin) began her final season paired with sophomore Avery Smith as Smith played her first match for the Yellow Jackets. The duo won against St. Mary's #1 Doubles team of Claire Bodine and Hallie Hershey 8-6.
- Seniors Kristin Dantzler (Williamsburg, Va. / York) and Landon Aud (Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) began their second year paired together after winning 12 matches last season. They began 2020 in a similar fashion – with an 8-2 victory against Hannah Gorel and Sydney Anderson.
- Senior Courtney Jenkins (Yorktown, Va. / York) and junior Isabel Wadsworth (Fredericksburg, Va. / Stafford Senior High School) won 10 matches in 2019 as a duo, including nine at #3 Doubles. They defeated Brooke Oliver and Bella Sterner 8-2 to begin the season.
Singles
- Fuqua returned to #1 Singles where she defeated Bodine 6-4, 6-2.
- Dantzler won nine matches at #2 Singles and 11 matches overall last season. This season began with a win as well as she defeated Hershey 6-4, 6-1.
- In her first Singles matchup at Randolph-Macon, Smith debuted at the #3 Flight. She won against Gorel 6-2, 6-1.
- At #4 Singles, the matchup required a tiebreak to decide the winner. After Anderson won the first set 6-2, Aud leveled the score by winning 6-4. Aud was able to win in the tiebreak set 1-0 (10-6), with the two playing just one set as the match had already been decided.
- Freshman Grace Holderman (Roanoke, Va. / Cave Spring) made her Yellow Jacket debut this afternoon as well. She won at the #5 Flight defeating Oliver 6-1, 6-1.
- Jenkins rounded out the order with a sweep of Sterner 6-0, 6-0. Jenkins won seven singles matchups last season.
