Box Score ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Sophomore Natalie Webster (Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) tallied a goal and an assist against non-conference foe St. Mary's Wednesday night -- but the Seahawks were still able to top Randolph-Macon Women's Lacrosse in the matchup.

How It Happened
- St. Mary's drew the first score about two minutes into the contest, but Randolph-Macon responded almost immediately. On the next draw control, junior Kaylyn Hewes (Linthicum, Md. / North County) was able to win it, which helped led directly to a goal moments later for sophomore McKenzie Hynson (Pasadena, Md. / Northeast), who scored on an unassisted play. The push-and-pull of the contest continued as St. Mary's scored about two minutes after the first sequence of goals in the contest. R-MC again responded in kind to level the score at 2-2 around the 18:47 mark with junior Erin Mattone (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) successfully converting a free-position chance. But from there, St. Mary's was able to launch an offensive volley, scoring ten goals before the end of the half and entered halftime with a 12-2 advantage.
- St. Mary's was able to tack on three more early in the second period, all within the first seven minutes of play. Randolph-Macon broke the streak with a score by junior Bella Samper (Spring, Texas / Klein Oak). She took an assisting pass from Webster and launched it to the cage for R-MC's third goal of the contest. St. Mary's added two more, but Webster finished the game with a goal, scoring it with just 22 seconds remaining. She took an an unassisted play at the cage to tally her fifth goal of 2020.
Inside The Numbers
- Randolph-Macon goalie Elicia Wells (Richmond, Va. / Trinity) made 12 saves in the cage. The senior played all 60 minutes in goal.
- Hewes led the team with three draw controls while Hynson and freshman Logan Schweiger (Church Hill, Md. / Queen Anne's County) each had two. Sophomore Lily Henderson (Manakin-Sabot, Va. / St. Catherine's) captured one draw control
- Henderson also grabbed two ground balls for the Yellow Jackets. Sophomore Katie Sheehan (Gambrills, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) and senior Olivia Cheezum (Centreville, Md. / Queen Anne's County) each grabbed one ground ball, as did Wells and Hewes.
- Sheehan, Cheezum, Hewes, Schweiger and senior Jordan Dudley (Lexington, Va. / Rockbridge County) each caused a turnover.
- R-MC was successful on 13 of its 14 clear attempts tonight.
