How It Happened
- The Generals earned a win at No. 1 Doubles as Valerie Marshall and Lily Horsley defeated junior Morgan Fuqua (Richmond, VA / Mills Godwin) and senior Stephanie Yeager (Fairfax, Va. / Robinson Secondary) 8-5.
- Washington and Lee also got a win at No. 2 Doubles as Claire Lacksen and Gabby Moore bested R-MC pair of juniors Kristin Dantzler (Williamsburg, Va. / York) and Landon Aud (Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) 8-5.
- Junior Courtney Jenkins (Yorktown, Va. / York) and sophomore Isabel Wadsworth (Lake Wales, Fla. / Lake Wales) won No. 3 Doubles by default with no W&L player assigned.
- Jenkins also got the other R-MC win at No. 6 Singles as W&L had no player to compete against her.
- Marshall won at No. 1 Singles against Fuqua 6-4, 6-2.
- Horsley defeated Dantzler at No. 2 Singles, winning 6-1, 6-1.
- At No. 3 Singles, Moore bested Yeager 6-1, 6-1.
- Aud suffered a 6-0, 6-1 defeat at No. 4 Singles as Melinda Kauffman earned the win.
- Lacksen rounded out the win for W&L, earning a 6-0, 6-1 win against Wadsworth.
