Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Junior sisters Rachel Jones (Chestertown, Md./Kent County) and Hannah Jones (Chestertown, Md./Kent County) each tallied two second-half goals as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team fell 17-6 at 11th-ranked Mary Washington on Wednesday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets evened their record at 1-1, while the Eagles improved to 4-0.
R-MC outscored UMW 6-5 in the second half. Hannah Jones tallied the first two goals for the Yellow Jackets, one unassisted and one on a free position shot. Rachel Jones would record the next two goals for R-MC, both on free position shots. Senior Alicia Hsieh (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and sophomore Mary Castle (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) also had goals for the Yellow Jackets.
Hsieh led R-MC with three draw controls and three ground balls.
Sophomore Elicia Wells (Richmond, Va./Trinity) registered 10 saves for the Yellow Jackets.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Saturday, March 3, with a 1 p.m. contest at Stevenson.
