ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team earned its second ODAC win of the weekend with a 9-0 victory over Hollins at the Banks Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
R-MC remains undefeated with a 6-0 overall and 4-0 ODAC record. Hollins falls to 1-2 and 1-2 in the ODAC.
The Yellow Jackets went 3-0 in doubles over Hollins. At the number one doubles spot, the senior duo of Caitlin Delmas (Asheville, N.C./ K-12 International Academy) and Toni McDonald (Richmond, Va./ Varina) won 8-2. The pair has now won five doubles matches this season.
Also picking up wins were the number two and three doubles pairs of seniors Molly Jesseman (Williamsburg, Va./ Warhill) and Melissa Tomlin (Prince George, Va./ Prince George) and sophomore Stephanie Yeager (Fairfax, Va./ Robinson Secondary) and freshman Landon Aud (Fishersville, Va./ Wilson Memorial).
R-MC swept Hollins 6-0 in singles. At number one and number two, Delmas and sophomore Gaby Tersigni (Yorktown, Va./ York) won 6-0, 6-0.
In the number three spot was Tomlin who beat Amelia Verkerk 6-0, 6-1. In the number four spot was freshman Kristin Dantzler (Williamsburg, Va./ York) who won her match 6-0, 6-1.
Jesseman would win 6-2, 6-1 at the number five singles and McDonalds won at number six 6-1, 6-0.
R-MC will be back in action on Sunday, March 19 for a home match against Centre.
