Snee, Hsieh Each Score Three for R-MC Women's Lacrosse vs. CUA

ASHLAND, Va. – Junior Susie Snee (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) and sophomore Alicia Hsieh (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) both scored three goals as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-13 decision to Catholic Saturday afternoon at Day Field.

Snee also recorded an assist, while sophomore Alex Lightfoot (Fairfax, Va./Woodson) registered three assists to goal with for the Yellow Jackets (6-4).

Hsieh scored 37 seconds into the game on an assist by Lightfoot as R-MC took an early lead. After the Cardinals (5-6) tied it, senior Shannon Jamieson (Cypress, Texas/Cypress-Woods) netted a goal to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-1 advantage. CUA got the next two goals before senior Jenelle Whitman (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) and Hsieh answered to give R-MC a 4-3 advantage with 16:57 left in the first half. After a Cardinal goal tied it, Snee and Jamieson both scored to give the Yellow Jackets their largest lead at 6-4 with 10:38 left in the period. CUA would tally the next four goals to take an 8-6 lead before senior Katie Russo (Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) scored on a free position shot with just under a minute remaining as R-MC trailed 8-7 at the break.

Whitman scored a free position goal early in the second half to tie the game at 8-8. The Cardinals registered four straight goals to take a 12-8 advantage with 22:20 remaining. Snee scored on an assist by Lightfoot to make it a 12-9 contest with 18:27 left. CUA got the next two goals before Lightfoot and Russo scored to make it 14-11 with 11:03 remaining. The Cardinals recorded two goals before Snee and Hsieh netted the final goals to make it 16-13.

Jamieson paced the Yellow Jackets with six shots. Senior Katie Schweitzer (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon) led R-MC with five ground balls. Snee topped the team with five draw controls.

Junior Allie Walker (Towson, Md./Mercy) recorded eight saves and had four ground balls.

Randolph-Macon returns to ODAC action on Wednesday, April 13 at 6 p.m. at Lynchburg.
