VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team lost just one game in its six singles matches and a total of four games in three doubles matches in blanking Virginia Wesleyan 9-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets (13-0, 8-0 ODAC) are ranked No. 14 in the region and remain in first place in the ODAC.
R-MC made quick work of doubles before rolling through singles. Junior Kelsie Grice (Hoover, Ala./Charlotte County Day) teamed with freshman Gaby Tersigni (Yorktown, Va./York) to win 8-1 at No. 2 Doubles. Grice won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 Singles, while Tersigni did the same at No. 4 Singles.
Juniors Melissa Tomlin (Prince George, Va./Prince George) and Molly Jesseman (Williamsburg, Va./Warhill) registered an 8-1 victory at No. 3 Doubles. Tomlin was victorious 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 Singles, while Jesseman won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 Singles.
Junior Caitlin Delmas (Asheville, N.C./K-12 International Academy) paired with sophomore Sid Corrigan (South Bend, Ind./Saint Joseph's) to win 8-2 at No. 1 Doubles. Delmas recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 Singles.
Junior Toni McDonald (Richmond, Va./Varina) had a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 5 Singles.
Randolph-Macon returns to the court on Monday, April 18, for a rescheduled home match against Virginia Union at 4 p.m. at the Banks Tennis Center.
