Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Sophomore Alicia Hsieh (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) tallied five goals and senior Jenelle Whitman (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) added three scores as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-10 decision at Mary Washington on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Shannon Jamieson (Cypress, Texas/Cypress-Woods) and junior Susie Snee (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) recorded single goals, while sophomore Alex Lightfoot (Fairfax, Va./WT Woodson) registered three assists and junior Laney Dee (Norfolk, Va./Bishop Sullivan) added one assist.
The Yellow Jackets (0-2) fell behind 5-0 in the first seven minutes of the contest. R-MC would score four of the next five goals, including a pair by Hsieh, to make it 6-4 with 10:58 left in the period. The Eagles (7-0) notched the final goal of the half to lead 7-4 at the break.
Hsieh scored the first goal of the second half before UMW recorded five of the next six goals to take a 12-6 advantage. R-MC would register four of the final five goals, including a pair by Whitman to make the final 13-10.
Hsieh paced the Yellow Jackets with seven shots, all on goal.
Junior Allie Walker (Towson, Md./Mercy) had six saves for R-MC.
Randolph-Macon remains on the road, travelling to Goucher on Saturday, March 12, for a 3 p.m. contest.
