Box Score In the final game of the Virginia Wesleyan Beach Blast Tournament, senior Sierra Ford (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) had two hits and scored once as R-MC dropped a 4-2 decision to Salem to finish the weekend with a 3-1 mark.
The Spirits (5-6) tallied a pair of runs in both the second and fourth innings. Ford had a leadoff single in the sixth and scored on a fielder's choice by sophomore Skylar Toth (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill). Sophomore Brandi Mulvena (Farnham, Va./Rappahannock) also singled and came home on a fielder's choice by junior Jen Balcom (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) to make it 4-2.
Sophomore Nelda Bagley (Kennbridge, Va./Central) went the distance for the Yellow Jackets (6-4) with two walks and three strikeouts in seven innings.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Tuesday, March 8, with a 2 p.m. home doubleheader against Washington College.
