Box Score BALTIMORE, Md.—Sophomore Kyle Keepers (Roswell, Ga. / Roswell) scored twice and sophomore Miles Muncie (Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) added two assists as the Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team dropped a 12-5 decision to Goucher on Saturday afternoon.
The Gophers (1-1) compiled a 10-0 advantage through 4:51 in the third period before the Yellow Jackets (0-4) added two goals in the last minute of the third period. Muncie found Keepers to put R-MC on the scoreboard with 1:03 to play. Thirty-second later, freshman Christian Abrigo (Leesburg, Va. / Flint Hill) passed to sophomore Tait Buttrey (Hillsborough, NC / Cedar Ridge) on a map-up situation to give R-MC its second goal of the contest.
The Yellow Jackets scored three goals in the fourth period. Goucher added two goals early before R-MC tallied three-straight goals. Muncie registered his second assist as sophomore Schylur King (Owings, Md. / Northern) tallied a goal. Freshman Cole Churchill (Hillsborough, NC / Cedar Ridge) also scored in the fourth period and Keepers notched his second goal of the contest with 6:06 remaining as the Gophers claimed the 12-5 win.
Junior Brian Davies (Lynchburg, Va. / E.C. Glass) recorded seven saves and freshman Chris Cerrina (Ridgewood, NJ / Ridgewood) added five saves in his first collegiate appearance.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on the road on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. against Haverford.
