Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senior Ryan Davidson (Logan Township, NJ / Kingsway Regional) scored twice and tallied an assist as the Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team fell 17-11 at Catholic on Saturday afternoon.
Davidson joined four other Yellow Jackets (0-2) who scored twice in the contest. Senior Nick Benhoff (Phoenix, Md. / Dulaney), sophomores Coleman Adams (Mechanicsville, Va. / St. Christopher's) and Miles Muncie (Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian and freshman Lee Pratt (Winston-Salem, NC / Ronald Reagan) all registered two goals apiece.
Catholic (2-0) scored early in the first quarter before Davidson added a goal. Both teams would another goal before the end of the first quarter.
The Cardinals tallied three goals to hold a 5-2 advantage before Pratt scored to put R-MC within two points. Sophomore Tait Buttrey (Damascus, Md. / Damascus) would add a goal for the Yellow Jackets to make it 6-4 before the Cardinals scored six straight goals en route to the 17-11 win.
Benhoff picked up 11 of the team's 26 groundballs.
Junior Brian Davies (Lynchburg, Va. / E.C. Glass) registered 20 saves in the contest.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on the road on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. at Christopher Newport.
