Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – Freshman Alicia Hsieh (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) tallied three goal as second-seeded Randolph-Macon dropped an 8-7 decision to top-seeded Washington and Lee Saturday afternoon in the championship game of the 2015 ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament.
Freshman Alex Lightfoot (Fairfax, Va./Woodson) scored on a free position shot 4:30 into the contest and junior Alyssa Chavez (Frederick, Md./Walkersville) scored on an assist by sophomore Laney Dee (Norfolk, Va./Bishop Sullivan) as the Yellow Jackets (14-4) took a 2-0 lead 10 minutes into the game. After a goal by the Generals (15-2), Hsieh connected on a free position shot with 13 minutes remaining in the period to give R-MC a 3-1 advantage. W&L recorded the final two goals of the half to knot the game at 3-3.
The Generals scored the first three goals of the second period to take a 6-3 lead. Hsieh scored with 12:45 remaining to make it a 6-4 contest. W&L registered the next two goals to raise its lead to 8-4. Junior Shannon Jamieson (Cypress, Texas/Cypress-Woods) scored on a free position shot with 4:10 left to narrow the deficit to three at 8-5. Hsieh connected on a free position shot with 48 seconds remaining to make it 8-6. Junior Jenelle Whitman (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) won the subsequent draw control and sophomore Susie Snee (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) scored with 26 seconds to go to make it a one-goal game at 8-7. Whitman again won the draw control but a turnover ended the comeback attempt by the Yellow Jackets.
Sophomore Allie Walker (Towson, Md./Mercy) had nine saves for R-MC.
The Yellow Jackets had a 10-6 advantage in draw controls. Whitman led all player with six. Whitman also had three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
