ASHLAND, Va. – Freshman Alicia Hsieh (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) had five goals and junior Jenelle Whitman (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) added four as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team earned a 15-10 ODAC victory over Lynchburg Wednesday evening at Day Field.

Hsieh scored the game's first goal 2:20 into the contest before the Hornets (6-6, 4-3) tallied a pair for a 2-1 lead. Whitman tied the game before a free position goal by sophomore Laney Dee (Norfolk, Va./Bishop Sullivan) with 12:30 remaining gave the Yellow Jackets (9-3, 5-1) a 3-2 lead. LC netted a pair to take a 4-3 advantage. Hsieh's second goal tied it at 4 before a goal by freshman Alex Lightfoot (Fairfax, Va./Woodson) with 2:50 left in the half gave R-MC a 5-4 lead at intermission.

It would be a lead that the Yellow Jackets would not relinquish. R-MC scored the first three goals of the second half and six of the first eight goals in the period to take a commanding 11-6 lead with 21:30 remaining. The Hornets scored four straight to cut the deficit to one at 11-10 with 10:00 left. Whitman scored a minute later and Hsieh added two of R-MC's final three goals as the Yellow Jackets posted the 15-10 victory. Lightfoot had four assists in the second half.

The Yellow Jackets had an 18-9 advantage in draw controls. Whitman and Dee paced R-MC with five, while sophomore Susie Snee (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) added four.

Sophomore Allie Walker (Towson, Md./Mercy) recorded eight saves for the Yellow Jackets.

Randolph-Macon returns to action on Saturday, April 11 for a 1 p.m. ODAC contest at Sweet Briar.
