Box Score SWEET BRIAR, Va. – Freshman Alex Lightfoot (Fairfax, Va./Woodson) led the way with four goals as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team rolled to a 20-7 victory at Sweet Briar in ODAC action Saturday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets (10-3, 6-1) scored the game's first five goals in the initial 11 minutes of the contest. Lightfoot accounted for two of the scores. The teams split the next four goals before R-MC netted the final five scores of the half to take a 12-2 advantage at intermission Lightfoot had three goals in the period, while 10 different Yellow Jackets scored in the half.
R-MC added eight goals in the second half in the 20-7 victory. Six different Yellow Jackets had a pair of goals: senior Allie Franklin (Manassas, Va./Osbourn), junior Shannon Jamieson (Cypress, Texas/Cypress-Woods), junior Alyssa Chavez (Frederick, Md./Walkersville), sophomore Laney Dee (Norfolk, Va./Bishop Sullivan), sophomore Jessie Cornbrooks (Virginia Beach, Va./Bishop Sullivan) and freshman Alicia Hsieh (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial). Dee and Jamieson both added two assists.
Sophomore Allie Walker (Towson, Md./Mercy) had three saves in the first half, while sophomore Jamie Langbein (Brookville, Md./Sherwood) posted four saves in the second stanza against the Vixens (4-11, 1-7).
Junior Jenelle Whitman (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) led the Yellow Jackets with eight draw controls, five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Wednesday, April 15 for a 4 p.m. ODAC match at Virginia Wesleyan.
