Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – Senior Betsy Hebert (Lutherville, Md./Roland Park Country) and sophomore Susie Snee (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) each scored two goals as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team lost 14-5 at 10th-ranked Washington and Lee in ODAC action Wednesday afternoon.
Junior Alyssa Chavez (Frederick, Md./Walkersville) scored the game's first goal on an assist by Hebert five minutes into the contest to give the Yellow Jackets (7-3, 3-1) the early lead. The Generals (9-2, 6-0) tallied the next eight goals and took an 8-1 lead at intermission.
Snee connected on a free position shot early in the second half to make it 8-2. Following a W&L goal, Hebert netted a goal to narrow the margin to 9-3 with less than 19 minutes remaining. After another General goal, Snee scored again on a free position shot to make it 10-4. W&L got two straight goals before Hebert scored with four minutes to go. The Generals would net the final two goals as it ended 14-5.
R-MC held a 12-9 in draw controls. Snee paced the Yellow Jackets with four, while junior Jenelle Whitman (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) tallied three and junior Tricia Mangas (Chantilly, Va./Paul VI) added two. Whitman also recorded two caused turnovers.
Sophomore Allie Walker (Towson, Md./Mercy) had eight saves for the Yellow Jackets, four in each half.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Saturday, April 4, with a 12 noon home ODAC contest against Bridgewater at Day Field.
